Thanks for the comments. I don't have complicated requirements as I only connect to one type of remote server (and stay most of the time on my local machine). So I have never noticed any issues like you mention. If I had, that would definitely be something to call out. Instead I was focusing on things that kept me using iTerm2 over using the built-in "Terminal" (and "Gnome Terminal" on Linux). But now I'm over iTerm2 since I'm able to replicate all it's neat features and do more with Kitty (and it's cross-platform to boot).
